Contracts
Drehid Waste Management Facility:
TES/TOBIN have been awarded the contract for the design/procurement
and construction supervision of the first phase of the Drehid
Waste Management Facility which includes a 5km access road.
Well done to Sean Finlay, Dave Conneran, Ciaran McGovern and
Damien Grehan in securing this contract, which follows the successful
shepherding of the facility through the regulatory process.
Waterways Ireland: TES have been awarded a
contract by Waterways Ireland to complete an EIS for a proposed
navigation at Glassan, Co.Westmeath. Well done
to Lisa Dowling for co-ordinating the tender for this project.
Roadstone Provinces Ltd/John A. Woods Ltd.:
TES have recently been awarded a number of EIS (Section 261)
contracts in the quarrying industry. These contracts involve
TES contributing to geology, water, socio-economic, ecology,
noise and cultural heritage sections of each EIS. Well done
to Brian Quirke who has worked closely with both companies to
secure these contracts.

Appointment
TES Consulting Engineers are delighted to announce
that Mr. John Dillon has recently joined us as a Project Scientist.
John is a graduate in Environmental Science from UCG and has
completed a Masters in Environmental Engineering at Imperial
College London. He previously worked with Komex. He will mainly
be involved in all aspects of hydrogeology and contaminated
land. His arrival will strengthen the established Hydro-Geotech
Group within TOBIN/TES.

International Association of Hydrogeologists
TES Consulting Engineers are participating in this
year's IAH (International Association of Hydrogeologists -Irish
Group) conference in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Many of our hydrogeologists
will be attending the 2-day event (April 25th-April 26th) and
TES representatives will be available at our stand to answer
all queries and to supply information on all of our various
services.
Recent Presentations and Lectures
· Office of Environmental Enforcement
of the EPA (OEE) – "Environmental Management,
Risk Assessment -a new approach". On May 3rd 2006, the
OEE are holding a conference at the Keadeen Hotel, Newbridge.
As part of this conference, Padraic Mulroy and Maeve McKenna
(TES Consulting Engineers) will give a presentation on the EPA's
Risk Assessment Methodology.
· North Western Region IEI – Sean
Finlay recently gave an evening lecture to the North West Regional
Branch of the IEI. The talk was entitled “Review of Waste
Licence and Planning Applications For Selected WMF in Ireland,
2001-2005”.
· NUI Galway - Sean Finlay recently
gave a lecture to engineering students at NUI Galway. The lecture
was entitled “Ethics and Engineers”.
· Cré Composting – Dermot
Burke recently presented a paper to Cré Composting Conference
entitled “to be confirmed”.
