Planning Act 2000 - Quarries Regulations

Sean Finlay (Managing Director) presented a lecture, on the 25th March 2004, on the forthcoming regulations governing quarries. The lecture which was hosted by the North-East Region of the IEI and The Irish Mining and Quarrying Society was attended by 60 persons. The regulations are expected to be introduced in April 2004.

Personnel

David Conneran, Chartered Engineer, has been appointed a Project Manager. David is a Civil Engineer who joined TES in 2002. Current Projects David is involved in include Dundalk Landfill Restoration and various projects for Bord Na Mona

TES are pleased to announce that Kevin Motherway is re-joining TES as project scientist in the Cork Office. Kevin will be involved in sourcing and managing work in Munster and will also be helping with current TES projects. Also, working from the Cork Office will be Dan Duggan Group Engineering Geologist.

TES are also pleased to announce the return of Mairead Hogan from a year travelling. Mairead will be taking over responsibility for LMB work and will resume archaeology and socio-economic elements of EIS work.

TES would like to wish our former colleague Gerard Finane good luck in his new job. Gerard has been appointed CAD Manager at Flood Flooring Ltd. We wish Gerard good luck for the future. Also, we would like to congratulate Gerard and his wife Jan on their new addition to the family. Jan had a baby boy, Nathan, on Saturday 20th March.

And finally...TES are proud to announce that our colleague Caoimhe Muldoon has been offered a fully funded Doctorate at Trinity College Dublin (Botany Dept.). Caoimhe will be leaving TES to take up her new challenge on the 23rd of April. Caoimhe has been a great colleague and all at TES would like to wish her success in her new direction. Caoimhe will continue to be available to TES for contract ecological work and as an expert witness.
